TOADLILY PRESS 2013 BOOK COVER CONTEST

We are looking for ORIGINAL ART to use for the front cover of our 2013 poetry book—a collection of 4 poets’ chapbooks in one perfect bound volume. CLICK HERE FOR A PRINTER-FRIENDLY VERSION OF THE 2013 COVER ART GUIDELINES.

The title is Mend & Hone and the poems concern all manner of love and life in the real and wishful world. Painting, drawing, photography, collage and mixed media are acceptable. We want a cover that begs to be picked up and taken home.

Winning artist will receive $100, five complimentary copies of the book and a cover credit.

TO SUBMIT: Email a high resolution digital image (300 dpi, 6.5 inches wide and 9.5 inches in length) as a JPEG attachment to:

NEA GRANT WINNERS

Not one but two: Congratulations to Pam Hart and Traci Brimhall, each of whom has won an NEA Fellowship! Pam is a former Toadlily editor and the author of the chapbook The End of the Body, which appeared in Toadlily’s The Fifth Voice. Traci is a former Toadlily intern. Both are Sarah Lawrence graduates.

2012 COVER ART

In 2012 we put out our first call for submissions for cover art and received many beautiful and striking works. The winning cover image appears on the cover of Embark. Titled “The Other Side of Monday,” it’s a work in acrylic and ink on watercolor paper by Gowri Savoor of Montpelier, Vermont.
