Here’s what some prestigious poets and critics have said about Toadlily Press and our
poets’ work:
“What a good idea: gather chapbook-sized collections from four excellent poets and print them
together as one book.” Thomas Lux
“Let us salute Myrna Goodman, Maxine Silverman, Meredith Trede, and Jennifer Wallace, each
a member of a rare writer’s group that plays like a string quartet, their voices balanced, but utterly
individual, in this dashing new concept for a book of poems authored by four hands.”
Molly Peacock
“It is a brilliant idea to put together a festival of four different lyric voices. There
is just enough room to give the reader an idea of each poet’s range and sensibility…”
Ilya Kaminsky
“The Fifth Voice reflects a leap forward for the press; the
gorgeously designed cover signifies a finely printed book. The four poets included are well-served by the
press and its delivery of poetry into the world.” Julie Enszer
“This fine volume reminds us why Toadlily Press is a necessary presence in contemporary
poetry.”
